Work... and why I hate it
Jun. 21st, 2009 07:54 pmWell, maybe that's putting it a little strongly... Hmmm, maybe not.
Today was day 6 of 6.
I was the third person in, at 9. Mary was second, and wasn't feeling well (thyroid storm). The opener had to leave early, her brother had a heart attack and was taken to Peoria. We all encouraged her to go, I mean, come on.
Then, I was cooking chicken. And it splashed back at me, hitting my face. I was to the sink, glasses off and rinsing about two seconds after it happened but I still have some red marks and all I have to say is, thank god I wear glasses, otherwise I would have been in the ER.
So, an incident report later ( I don't think my asst manger was real happy about it but... hot oil on face, so not good) I'm finally home (still had to work an hour later than scheduled, not enough people working today... Sunday and Father's Day, go figure) and the husband is not happy. Not even a little.
And now I have two days off. It's a good thing.
Hope everyone else's Father's Day went better than mine...
