Tomorrow!

I do get to have part of Thanksgiving off, I 'only' have to work 2:30 to 8 - and then try to get out of the store as the madness begins!

And we're having Cornish Game Rock Hens, not turkey, we did that last month before the boy went to Texas. (I've already made the deviled eggs for tomorrow!)

And since we're having part of an early Christmas next month when he's home, we'll have ham then.

Oh yes, I get to have a new crown next month, I've met my deductible and so it's cheaper to do it now than later. Besides, the tooth is still healthy (one of the cuspids broke off while I was eating pizza!) and I'd like to keep it that way. Just 3 more teeth to cap and then I just have to keep everything healthy. le sigh

But everyone have a happy and if you are shopping, stay safe!

Because I totally suck at keeping track of this place...

Hope everyone has a good one, at least I get dinner and football before I go in to work.

HAPPY (EARLY) THANKSGIVING, EVERYONE!

I have to work 4 hours and then I'm going to my uncle's brother's for lunch. We had our very small turkey celebration today, because I was off. And it was good. And I'm not even thinking diet until after the weekend.

Yes indeedy, I did. Course, I didn't have to go to work until 10, and last night the deli closed early (imagine that! Nobody at wm buying food, I wonder why?) and then today our assistant manager was making noises about closing early again. I didn't care, I was off at 7 and was mostly feeding the masses in the breakroom per our Co-Manager (whom I happen to like). So...

And yes, I walked around and looked at some stuff and decided I just was not interested in any of it, but did convince my one co-worker to buy the kids coats that were on sale for $7. I can't buy *everything* for them! And at least this way, they will have warm coats when they go back to school on Mon.

And I have almost finished both Kracken's and Yanagi-wa's stories so that I can send them back to them so that all the rest of you can read them. (Was that convoluted enough for everyone?) I have to say, I am enjoying getting to read everything first! (And that they let me take enough time so that my dyslexia doesn't absolutely kill it!)

So, one more day of work (six of six, dear god) and then a day off (of course Sunday, I don't need the extra pay, not at all) and then four days work and two days off. Which is good, cause it's Deer Hunters Camp that weekend and that means food and fun! And after that, unless requested, I think my lead has me scheduled for Sat/Wed's off, which for me is perfect.

And Thanksgiving was nice, just the husband and later the son, and I didn't work until 5 so I could digest the dinner and not feel all bloated. And we had little chickens with mashed potatoes and gravy and dressing and veggies and pumpkin pie (buy your pumpkin mix now, it's going to be in short supply!) and quiet and... ok, yes, I did enjoy myself. And the Packers won.

I hope everyone had enough to eat and for those with obnoxious relatives, ignore them!

Ok, so I decided that one of my coworkers at wm needed some help this season (4 kids, always broke because of having 4 kids, living in brother's basement, medical problems with a couple of the kids, 4 kids... you get my drift)

Anyway, I thought to myself, self, we need to do our good deed for the Thanksgiving season (as apposed to the back to school and Christmas season) and I went to management and asked that, if I bought some things (Thanksgiving dinner stuff), if it could be left in their office and given to said person before they went home on Sunday (a day I do not work). This would also keep that person from spending money she either didn't have or needed for other things. My asst manager said certainly and then preceded to come up to the deli and *talk* about this with myself and another person. Granted, all she wanted to do was to see if there were others that wanted to help out but... I am so not comfortable with that scenario.

Now, I don't know about you, but the whole purpose of a good deed is that sometimes, or even most of the time, NO ONE KNOWS ABOUT IT. Maybe I'm crazy, but that's just the way I feel about it. Sometimes it's ok that the person knows about the gift, no matter what it is, and sometimes it just should be anonymous.

This was one of those times.

Fortunately, the other person sort of agrees with me (about the whole anonymous part) and although, yes, she's giving me some money to go along with the money the asst manager gave me, (and some wonderful hints on different goodies to buy), well, it's the principle of the thing.

So, Saturday (at some point) I'm going shopping and buying all sorts of goodies for their Thanksgiving dinner, and I'm just going to have to hope that nobody blows the gaff.

Good deeds...

Next up, the Angel tree opposite the deli.
