This was a really nice weekend for me. Just for a change.

Sat -- did nothing at all, well, laundry. Does that count? And talked to the daughter, who is back in Okinawa, for over 2 hours!

Sun -- woke up to the fact that the granddaughter was standing by my bed. She was all excited 'cause she was with her daddy and wanted to see Poppa. Mind you, she won't talk to him half the time, but it's never ME she wants to see, no, it's Tom! I'm so unloved...

So, Wendi came out a bit later, Chris wanted to stay and help with the silage and so we three girls went on the Spoon River Drive. Well, to Ellisville and Mt Pisg... umm, can't spell that word... and it was a really nice day and we ate up on the bluff overlooking the Spoon River valley, and I did pick up a nice Christmas plate for Wendi and two bottles with the Cards baseball team on them for Chris for a stocking stuffer. Otherwise, not much that I was interested in buying. Oh yes, bought honey and 3 different kinds of jam! The real stuff!

Then I came home and finished making dinner. So it was a nice day. Lots of sunshine and not too terribly hot. We were able to have the windows open for most of the day, too soon it'll be all stuffy.

Have I said lately that I really really don't like winter?

And a extremely nice way to start the eight days of hell -- five of them at the old store and three at the new. And mostly 2-11's. And we're having food on Fri, I have this wonderful dessert I'm dying to try, and A is also bringing something! Food Food Food! I will be sad to leave some of the people, but not most of the management.

And that was my weekend. Nice.

So, Kracken's art having sent me into a frenzy of Sunny reading ( all the one-shots, plus some browsing of Ion and Road) it's now midnight and I should get to bed. But I have this whole, 'man, I could sooo write some more on the new GW story' going on here. And I do have all day tomorrow to write, 'cause I have two days off. And then I work three days. And have the weekend off. And work three days. And have three days off.

Looking at my schedule is just way too fun! And since I'm going to be turning in about three applications (yes, work is that bad, am not taking it any more) I figure I should just go for the whole 'use up the vacation, 'cause I'm not going to be here much longer' and piss off my asst manager. Like I care.

Now, if I just knew what the daughter was doing....

And the baby kittens are growing by leaps and bounds, especially since we've started feeding them twice a day with the kitten milk stuff. The mom cat keeps letting the older kittens feed off of her, and with 4 of her own, they get shorted. So, they get feed extra. Now I just need to find homes for the older ones... And then the younger ones...

I had a really nice day off today, got to see the granddaughter dance (hey, at 2 and a bit anything they do is cute!) and then came home and cooked a little dinner. So, really, all in all, an nice day. Would have been better if a certain daughter had called, but she might be working...

But the other day, when we got our little town newspaper, I had to laugh. On the front page was the heading: "Duo takes over Abby Lanes". *Not* that I'm fixated on GW or anything like that, but I must have laughed like a loon for at least 10 min, and giggled everytime I looked at it afterwards. Abby Lanes is a bowling alley in the town north of us, and can't you just see the boys pitching in to help Duo run the place! OMFG! Either that, or the five of them go bowling and literally take the place over... I can just see Heero being banned because he broke the return, Wufei ranting about the injustice of being being beaten by a long haired idiot, and Q and T necking as T teaches Q just *how* to throw the ball!

I'm thinking that there's a story in there somewhere... And that'll make the second one that I've written in the GW universe.

What is the world coming to!
