And WM is a 'Family' store
Jan. 12th, 2010 08:43 pmJust not sure whose.
So, the daughter is home, the weather is cooperating and I asked for three days off to go to my parent's in WI (who haven't seen her since she left 2 1/2 yrs ago and are in their 80's) and work said, 'Oh no, we need 3 weeks notice, it's not fair to the store that you want to go north... etc, etc, etc.' And really, after looking at the schedule, there is only one day that is a problem, but all they need to do is move one person and they should be fine. Oh wait, logic, not a quality most of the assistant managers have.
Ok, it might not be fair, but as I told the one co-manager, how was I to know that the weather would cooperate and we would be able to do this... THREE FEAKIN' WEEKS AGO! So, in the end, I just have to call in (because of course, they don't know that I'm going to be gone) and I asked the co-mang if I would be getting fired over this. He was all horrified and said, 'No.' Riiiggtt.
And not to mention that there are other associates that have done the same thing and everyone is 'oh, ok. See you when you get back.'
So, I am not happy with the store, they aren't terribly thrilled with me, and... I have 6 days off and I really don't care. I'm thinking that I really need the break...
Oh yes, I went in and put in for vacation the first week of Feb (anniversary) and when I get back, I'll put in for the week leading up to the 20th. Because, you see, you have to use all your vacation before your anniversary date. Which is Feb. 20th. And I wouldn't be taking so much in Feb if they would have given me the 3 days this week.
