Still sick and the wonderful world of ...

So, remember the sinus infection a while back? Well, now it's vertigo. And I'm queasy. And it was my whole one day off after 6 straight.

Guess who isn't probably going to work tomorrow.


Oh yes, wm.

Last week, early last week, I put in for 5 days of vacation. The time clock never buzzed at me, so I figured all was well. Then yesterday, my asst mang is all, 'Oh, I didn't know you wanted 4 days off, I just red lined you for the one.'  By now I'm looking at her as if she's crazy (well, she is) and tell her, 'I put in for 5 days.' She just breezes away, saying, 'Well, I don't know anything about that, these are the only one's that were finalized.'

Now, understand, there is still a problem with this. She has me working the rest of the week. So I would be paid for 4 vacation days and then work 3 regular days. Anyone else see a problem with this? And remember, this is wm, the "no overtime AT ALL" place. I would be being paid for 56 hrs of work. 16 of those would be classified as overtime.

So, when I went to dinner, I got on our system and looky there, 5 days of vacation, FINALIZED!

I'm not sure what she's smokin' but I planned this sort of carefully, I have the Fri before off, took Sat, Sun, Mon, Tues, Wed as vacation days and then would have Thurs and Fri off because -- Oh, you all remembered! No overtime.  So I could go to WI to visit my parents whom I haven't seen since Aug. And so that I wouldn't have to go to wm for 8 days. And because I have to use my vacation days before Feb 20th or I'd lose them (anniversary date).

So I left her a wonderful little note explaining all of this, well, more politely 'cause she has no sense of humor and doesn't take jokes very well. And I really wanted to apologize but you know what, this wasn't my fault and so I didn't.  I am sorry that some of her skills are lacking but I did try and blame it on Home Office (since she keeps saying that that is where the schedules are coming from, having my doubts now).

It will be interesting to see what happens if I get to work tomorrow... 'course, it's Tues and she's not usually there on Tues...
