Flu shot

So, wm decided that its employees should have the chance to get the flu shot for $4 (just had to show the med card) and of course I got mine first thing today when I went to work.

Now, you have to understand, getting the flu shot for me is just like actually getting the flu. Not as bad, not for as long, but all the symptoms are there: achy, run a fever, nauseous. And it usually takes 10 to 12 hours to get that way. Usually.

Not with this one. I got the shot about 10:00, by 12 I was sick. And because I know that it's just because of the shot, it's not like I can say "going home, have the flu" or anything like that. So, lots of motrin later, I came home, took a hot shower, took more motrin, talked to the daughter and now I'm going to bed.

Flu shots, gotta love 'em.

Shots make me very sick. My last shot was a German measle booster. I was sick for days.

Ugh! That sounds rotten! Will it last as long as a regular flu? I hope you're getting rest now and on your way to feeling better.

No, it just lasts like 12 hours or so, today I feel fine. And since I'm also off, the rest of me can relax and maybe heal up a bit!

I never take a flu shot because that's exactly what happens to me. I'd rather take a chance on not getting sick than know I'll be sick.

Yes, but I'm only sick for a little bit. This morning, I was fine. And since I've already had the flu (in July! for heaven sakes), I knew that not getting it this year just wasn't on. Besides, $4? Although, now I have to decide about the H1N1, if it even gets offered around here.
