Sad Day
It's a good thing that today is sunny because I didn't get a lot of sleep last night and this morning my mom called and told me that Danny had died. He had esophageal cancer two years ago and they thought they had gotten all of it but the cancer had spread to his hips. We found out that he had gone into hospice a couple of days ago and that he only had a couple of months.
Last night I eventually did a death watch because I just couldn't get to sleep and stay there. He was my mom's cousin, but not that much older than me and it just doesn't seem fair, he and Henry were going to go to Memphis and listen to jazz when he retired. At least he had time to get all his affairs in order and to get everything set up for Henry (they live in the backward state of WI, so he had to go through a lawyer who could set everything up so Henry could inherit).
This is the third that we've lost in this family to cancer within the last 3-4 years. It's getting old, real fast.
