So, I just stepped outside to check and see just how full the moon is (total!) and there's frogs singing in the creek and owls hooting in the distance and some other type of night bird making noise...

I can not tell you how glad I am that spring is finally here and it's warm(er) and I can wander around outside without freezing bits of me off.

And the daughter is still somewhere, either in Okinawa or somewhere over the ocean or she's in CA. One of these days, I'm sure we'll know.

And the son (how did I end up with two in the military) is off to school in Virginia on Thurs. He's driving straight out there, has to do something at one base and then show up at a different one to do training. He's going to be learning how to do all the quartermaster stuff, invoicing and all that kind of thing. This is good. Then he'll meet his unit up in WI at Camp McCoy for training for a couple of weeks. This is also good.

The bad? His unit is deploying next Jan. and now he's going to go with them. The sort of good, it's not Afghanistan, it's Iraq. And he's already had one tour of duty there. And since he'll be in charge of all their stuff, he can't go out running around... ok, he can't do the whole convoy thing. Which makes me a much happier person. And hopefully, he'll make Sgt out of all of this. That would be very good.

But it still leaves the daughter up in the air (maybe literally) as too what she'll be doing. I can just see someone saying, 'Well, we have a tour of duty in (pick any) Australia, Taiwan, or somewhere else over there' and Bec's hand would be up and she'd be ready to go. *sigh*

Once again, how did I end up with two in the military.

And when I got home, it turns out the husband had been down getting rid of locust trees that were getting into some fence and one branch wapped him. And yes, I had to dig a thorn tip out of his head. And then it bled like anything, because, you know, head wounds are like that. Of course, he said he had his hat, goggles, and muffs on, and it hit right where nothing else was. Typical.

And the sun is shining, the sky is bright blue with fluffy white clouds, I've got windows open (the cats are sooo happy!) and it smells so wonderful with the trees budding and the grass starting to green up!

And then I sneeze. A lot.

Because the trees are budding and the grass is greening. sigh

But it's not winter anymore!

And I have two days off!
