And I have to work.

But it's been a quiet morning and there were all sorts of birds outside (a bit cool, the wind is blowing and that takes all the fun out of everything!) and the squirrel from yesterday is still out there. The closest woods to us is almost half a mile and we don't have that many trees so I'm not really sure why we have a squirrel at this point.

So I get to work 12-9 today and hopefully that will be the last of late nights that I will work.

This is sad, that something I used to do all the time, I barely look at at all.

Last night, the son called to leave some phone no. for my husband (trying to get the truck fixed) and I asked him if he was coming out to the house to pick up his mail. And to get his birthday presents.

The following proves that he is his mother's child, for the life of me, I can never remember my age and have to subtract my birth year from this year to figure it out.

C: My birthday? My birthday! I completely forgot it!

Me: Do you even know how old you are?

C: Umm, yeah, ah, oh wait, it was you guys 25th wedding anniversary, so I'm 25!

I am not kidding, that was the conversation. And yes, 25 years ago, I got married, pregnant, turned 32 and had the boy on Dec 3rd after 5 very long days of labor. And no, they probably wouldn't let anyone go that long now.

But really! How funny is that!

So on the day before my birthday ('cause I have to work tomorrow), I went out to eat (New Zealand lamb chops! A most wonderful thing!), planted my lilac bush and weeded around my peony bushes. Oh yes, I also weeded some of the flower garden. I'm not really supposed to do all the out-in-the-sun stuff, but it's such a nice day... I couldn't resist.

And I'm still trying to decide whether or not to buy the topsy-turvey planters of tomatoes and strawberries... I think that not having them on the ground would be a good thing but... do they really work? I hate paying money for stuff that doesn't work...
